Break down every beat into 16th-notes to make sight reading and understanding rhythms easier. Overlay a 16th-note count to grooves and fills.

Here's a great way to get students laughing and start coordinating dropping a stick. The idea is to just go straight for another stick and not worry about the one you drop. I keep my spares under my legs. 😉
